Back to Back by Bacharach

As part of The Mosaic Cat Festival 2012, Graeme Davis and Jamie Moore wrote Act One of a two Act musical that was presented as a cabaret piece. It received very positive accolades. Justifiable so.
This is Brigitte’s version of “Alfie” sung as Marlene Dietrich in the show.
The song follows a scene in which Marlene has just left  a tryst with John F Kennedy in The White House. In the background are Kennedy family visuals. Musical arrangement and accompaniment by Graeme Davis.

And here’s a link to a youtube clip of Brigitte’s version of “White Grass” by Charles Marawood. Performed by Marlene Dietrich in 1968

In the process of researching for Back to Back, Graeme Davies found a clip of the Melbourne concert that featured this song and Brigitte fell in love with it.

Oh, and if you are reading this and wondering what Marlene Dietrich has to do with Burt Bacharach, then you REALLY need to see this show!

Brigitte’s performances have been described as sublime and alluring. A collision of Berlin Cabaret and Lounge Chanteuse.

Witty, honest and unpretentious.
